Goodreads asked Emily Steele Jackson:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Emily Steele Jackson If I'm stuck on a scene or plot point, I've found the best help is to actually get up and do something "brainless" for a bit. Ironically, I find it tough to concentrate on writing when I'm staring at a computer screen. I can compose scenes or blog posts better when I'm doing things like hanging laundry, walking the dog, showering, or gardening. Once I've got it "written" in my head, it's much easier to write it out at the computer.
