Goodreads asked Hawkings Austin:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Hawkings Austin I write something else. I've got three or four or twenty outlines, synopsis, or other bits and pieces lying around my computer. This is a new computer, so there are only three partial novels on it. I'll move the other ones over later. I just read some of my work, start editing, then find that I need to add a scene or something.

Make an outline of the whole novel. When you're bored, find one of the blank spots and start typing. (Don't fear the delete key, it is vital.)
