Goodreads asked Meg Hennessy:

How do you get inspired to write?

Meg Hennessy From everywhere. I love history. My husband and I travel to all the historical sights, sometimes they resonate with me, sometimes they don't. History books about anything. I collect antique books, my oldest history book is 1842, my oldest encyclopedia set is 1863, and just old books in general. I picked up a book about John Paul Jones, and thought, hmmm that must mean I'm going to write about sailing. Had no idea it would become a trilogy, but that's the magic of writing.
