How do you get inspired to write?

Maria Giakoumatos Oh, this is such a terrible answer. . . I do things when I'm not supposed to! Back in college (when I wrote the book), I would suddenly feel inspired to write when I was in lecture or when I was supposed to be writing essays. Basically, whenever I have some responsibility other than writing, I'm magically motivated to write. When I have nothing else to do than write, I have terrible writer's block. It's a curse.
