Patricia L. Douglass
Patricia L. Douglass asked Katherine Pathak:

Hi, I just love your mysteries! I have read nine of your mysteries about DCI Dani Bevan. I've noticed some differences in verb usage with "was" and "were". Would you help me to understand? (I am an American.) Also, would you please ask the folks to do a better job of editing how the chapters are sometimes written? For example: Chapter 1A or Chapter 7F. I do hope that James and Dani get married! Thank you!

Katherine Pathak Hi Patricia, thank you for getting in touch! Sorry, for the delayed reply, I hadn't been on Goodreads for a while! I'm so glad you are enjoying the series. I will certainly pass on your comments regarding chapter headings. As for uses of 'was' and 'were'. There tend to be disagreement amongst us Brits about the appropriate use! It should usually be 'was' for singular and 'were' for plural.
I won't give away Dani and James's future - you'll have to keep reading!

Very best wishes

Katherine
