Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

E.V. Seymour This isn't a cop out but I have absolutely no idea! Recently, I've become more interested in the way in which family, in all its permutations, can influence for good or ill. I guess this is what could have drawn me to my story. However the narrative is much more crime orientated than my previous novels (with female main protagonists.) My main character plays detective - she's a police officer's daughter - and I just fancied the idea of writing a detective style story without it becoming a full blown police procedural. Having said this, I took advice on procedure from a retired senior police officer.
