Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Holly Lyn Walrath My latest book is a chapbook of poetry called Glimmerglass Girl. The poems are some of my older ones that all seemed to fit into a theme of womanhood, femininity, and othering/creaturing of women. The title comes from the Greta Oto butterfly, called "espejito" in Spanish, which means "little mirrors." The lead poem in the book uses this butterfly as a metaphor for women. While it looks delicate with its glass wings, it can actually carry up to 40 times its weight. I wanted to explore women's strengths and weaknesses in poetic form.
