Harley asked April Henry:

Hi Dear, April Henry you are my #1 author/ writer I recently had a concussion at my middle school . You have improved my writing and made me the top of the class writer in my middle advance class. By reading your books I have overcome the most difficult situations in my life. Thank You And now for my question "What was your most favorite book to write. and Why?"

April Henry Wow, that's great to hear, Hayley! Concussions can be tough.

I used to say Girl, Stolen was my favorite book to write, because it was so interesting to learn about what it's like to be blind.

But about five years ago, my mom was dying. She was totally fine with dying; I was not so much. In order to keep my mom alive, at least a little bit, I created the character of Nora in The Girl I Used to Be. She acts, talks, thinks, and even makes bacon like my mom. It was a way to keep my mom alive, at least a little bit. So that's now my favorite book to write.
