Goodreads asked S.A. Schneider:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

S.A. Schneider As of this answer, I am working on the third book of the Town Magician series. The original story came about because of a festival.

Near where I live, every year, they do a Harry Potter themed festival. I wanted to have a book ready so I could set up an author table. But the books I had been working on didn't fit the theme of the festival well, so I decided to write one based on magic.

I quickly wrote the first Town Magician book but never got it out for the festival, because I had to work on improving the story and editing and getting a book cover and more.

The idea just grew from the basic thought of a kid getting his magic powers. Then I thought that it would be cool if the magicians were the most important people in the world, and started to add more and more details to support those ideas.

The Martin & James stories started as a dream my step-son Jason had. I took what he described and turned it into a set of stories.
