Goodreads asked Sean Bloomfield:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Sean Bloomfield You really just have to get started and stick with it. It took me about five years to write "Adventure North," but most of it was done in the final year of writing. I set aside about an hour each night to write consistently.

Also, a great bit of advice I heard for aspiring writers who are 21+... "Write tipsy, edit sober." You don't actually have to be tipsy for this to work. You just need the mindset that errors are fine while you're writing. You are going to make them. Worry about them later during the editing process.
