Goodreads asked Victoria Hardesty:

How do you get inspired to write?

Victoria Hardesty I had a 9th-grade teacher, Miss Juhl, who was a stickler for reading, writing, and vocabulary. I learned to read at age 3, so that wasn't a problem. Because I read a lot, my vocabulary wasn't a problem either. In her class, she taught us how to structure a sentence, and diagram it properly. I thrived on it. During my working life, I composed business letters, memos, handbooks, instruction manuals, etc. I always wanted to write a novel. My best friend of 50+ years always wrote. She filled notebooks with her writings, then tossed them out. Later in life, we each had a serious, life-threatening illness. It was during our recovery we decided to fulfill that lifelong dream. We teamed up to write a series of books. We've got two published now, the third one is due for release later this month (July 2018) and we're writing the fourth one for release in October/November 2018. We're planning a fifth and sixth for next year. What we never anticipated is all the other work an Author needs to do in order for the books to sell. We're still working on our author's platform while we squeeze in time to write our stories.
