Ginger Withall asked Sandeep Jauhar:

My late husband studied to become a physician in Mexico in 1971. For years, he worked many night shifts in various ER's across the country. He spent so many years without adequate sleep that I speculate when he crashed his airplane and succumbed to his injuries, he was attempting to overcome the psychosis he developed due to so many years without sleep. Will the demands ever change for those studying medicine?

Sandeep Jauhar I certainly hope so. The demands can be overwhelming - and yet, people are still lining up to get in! Some schools want to create shorter tracks for those who want to do primary care, say, or strictly research. Let's see what happens.

So sorry to hear about what happened to your husband.
