How do you get inspired to write?

Devin Galaudet I don't. I make it a habit to sit down and not get up until I have written something -- even if it's garbage. There is always editing. Once every great while I wake up and it is just there and the words flow. Most of the time I just have to force it out. Usually after a page or two something clicks in. This doesn't mean it is great or doesn't require a ton of editing later but I start getting the story that needs to be written on the page. Maybe writing inspires me to write!
