How do you get inspired to write?

Alanna McFall Usually I have a random idea that ends up percolating in my head for a while before I commit it to paper, but I also have been very thankful for opportunities in my writing life, like PlayGround theater, where I get to write to prompts. Having structure and direct inspiration is a wonderful thing for me, even if (or especially when) the ideas spiral out far away from where they began.
