I have one piece: Write about what you love, about your experiences (real or fictitious), about what you have deep knowledge about, about what you can explore and analyze. That way, no one can pick at your writing, because your writing will be coming from inside of you, your writing will be your heart, mind, and soul on display, your writing will be authentic.
