Goodreads asked Ellen Hamilton:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Ellen Hamilton I stop writing. I put all my work away and just forget about writing completely. I'm not on any schedule, I have no deadlines to meet, and I don't have to live up to anyone's expectations. My writing is a very private hobby, so when I can't write, I don't.

Usually, when I do come back to my work a week or two later, the block is cleared up. I see everything with a fresh eye, my brain can think up of more details, and the ideas just start flowing from my fingertips.
