How do you get inspired to write?

Alexander Lightstone When I was first married my wife began a new job as a journalist and asked me to edit her work. Later I became involved with Christmas Skit Nights at my office. This was fun, writing a short ten minute skit which would always generate laughs since the audience had usually imbibed some (???) alcohol.

Of course I was often an actor: for example, a pregnant woman screaming while delivering a baby ON STAGE, and a tipsy reporter interviewing a "mad" scientist. (Tipsy was supposed to be late in the script but I started drinking early).
