Write daily. Even when it's hard or you think you have nothing to say. Just write. And read. Read like crazy. Anything, comic books, cook books, Cormac McCarthy, it doesn't matter as long as it's good and it's inspirational. And don't keep your writing a secret. Tell people. A declaration makes it harder to quit.
