Goodreads asked Marshall Ross:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Marshall Ross Vodka, mostly. No, that's not true at all. I write something, anything, usually junk. And I let it sit for a night. I don't believe in fighting it out at the keyboard. If I'm stuck I walk away and get back to it really early in the morning. If that doesn't do the trick, it means there's something bigger going wrong with the story. At that point I let myself go backward and look for how I may have written myself into a corner. And I give myself permission to change something I thought was great.
