I mostly get inspired when I'm bored. My mind tends to wonder when I have nothing to do or nothing in particular to think about. I also get inspired just before bed, which turns into a never-ending cycle of getting up to write ideas down, lying back down, and repeat. Inspiration can sometimes hit me in the middle of a conversation, too, which leads to a "hang on a second I have to write this down!" moment.
