Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Elizabeth Whitton I sat near the rear exit on a bus one, hot and dusty day. A boy at the front turned and glanced at me. I wondered, as I sat on my sweat-humid seat and stared out the window as the world rushed past in a hazy, beige blur, what if he had strange, golden eyes and I was the only person on the bus who noticed? Why would I be the only one to see their odd hue? What would happen if I stepped off the bus at the next stop--
And he followed me?
Thus began "Houses of the Old Blood".
