How do you get inspired to write?

Ashley Lynn I have been writing since I knew how to! When I was little, I would make books out of printer paper and illustrate them. Some I can remember were adventure books, where two characters would explore a place to find the answer to a question - and a book about mermaids and dolphins. Poetry was also something I loved to write and I recently found notebooks filled with my childhood whimsy. When I graduated college, I wanted to find a "career" I suppose and began taking writing more seriously. In 2016, my husband and I set out on a search for somewhere new to live and that was the inspiration for my first book, A Year Against the Rain. In 2018, I was able to write and publish A Year Against the Rain as well as my first poetry book, Morning Motivations.
