Goodreads asked Erin Casey:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Erin Casey There's a moment when the world falls away, and my chest burns with passion, and I know this is exactly what I want to do for a living. Nothing else matters. I get lost in the writing and the world building, and I feel completely connected to the story. It doesn't happen often, but it's a euphoric feeling that I crave. It gives me purpose.

That, and the writing community. With so many writers out there, you'd think we'd end up competing against one another. But honestly, the best thing you can do is learn from your community and support other writers with their craft. It's an amazing feeling to be part of something bigger than the world you've created.
