Makayla D asked April Henry:

I have read Girl Stolen, The Girl Who Was Supposed To Die, and The Night She Dissappread and LOVED them. I have a couple questions for you. How do you come up with the idea to write these books? Also is there a sequel to Girl Stolen??? I've heard rumors there might be soon is that true?? That would be awesome if there was! Lastly what book of yours should I read next? Thank you for taking the time to read this!

April Henry Girl, Stolen started with a real story - a real local blind girl who was briefly kidnapped after someone stole the car when her mom left the keys in the ignition. I saw her on the news the next day and thought, But what if...? There is a sequel, it's called Count All her Bones.

The Night She Disappeared was also inspired by a real case, an old one, in which the person who ordered a pizza to a fake address originally asked if a certain girl was making deliveries that night. A different girl was, and that's who he took. I gave it a better ending than real life.

Besides Count All Her Bones, you might try The Girl I Used to Be, which again is based on a cold case. They have not solved that one - my solution is fictional.
