Two short stories set during WWII I've enjoyed are The Notes in Our Hearts by Gabriellyn Gidman and The Art Contest by Perry Kirkpatrick. Grace and the Preacher by Kim Vogel Sawyer is a sweet prairie romance, A Different Kind of Courage by Sarah Holman is an exciting Revolutionary War era adventure, and The Viking Quest series by Lois Walfrid Johnson is a heart-filled series I enjoyed years ago.
