Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

V.C. Chickering I was looking for my next taboo subject to explore with equal parts depth and fun when a conversation with my acupuncturist sparked an idea. I also thought it would be a good challenge to try my hand at a five decade-long, multi-generation family unraveling since--at this point in my life--it seems to be going on all around me. The longer I wrote the less the story became about the illicitness of the main characters' predicament and more about the trappings of expectation, small-minded judgement, and a family's need to forgive and accept with grace and humor.
