How do you deal with writer’s block?

Shaun Lewis I don't get writer's block as such, but I do have periods where I struggle to know what to write next. I have two tactics to overcome this. Firstly, I will move onto a different section of the story that is easier to write or for which I have completed the research. Before I go back to the difficult chapters, I often go for a long walk and usually come back with three chapters mapped out. Another tactic is just to write. It might be rubbish and gets overwritten, but the process gets the creative juices flowing.
