What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Kristin Pierce Oh, there are so many wonderful things about being a writer! For me, the best thing about being a writer is being able to follow my inspiration, write about what matters to me, and be my own boss. I thoroughly enjoy being involved in art direction with my illustrators and the design process, which are perks of self-publishing. The feeling of seeing my children's book vision come to life with incredible illustrations is so rewarding. Lastly, I love connecting with readers. I love doing school author visits to schools around my province to share self-empowerment, growth mindset, and the writing process with students. The children always inspire me and jump-start my creativity!
