Was it difficult to expand on these mythological characters? As a kid, I would've loved to add to my favorite books and stories by putting my own spin on them, but I'm sure I wouldn't have known where to start. Did you find that intimidating at all?

Jodi McIsaac Hi Kailah! I wouldn't say it was intimidating, because there's so much "wiggle room" in mythology. There are so many different versions of the myths, and they've changed so much through the centuries, that I felt pretty confident in taking some creative license with them. The tricky part was writing historical fiction with the Revolutionary series -- in that case I wanted to write compelling characters but also stay true to who these people were in real life, as well I could!
