How do you choose character names normally? Just by names you like or that seem to fit, by meaning, or do you make them up?

I actually use a mixture of all of those methods when choosing a name (even making them up, which is super fun :D ), though when I get an idea for a character, it's often already tied to a specific name. Since I like names so much, I have a sort of "mental bank" of them that my imagination can pull from, and I also read through a baby name book when I'm looking for one I haven't thought of before or one with a specific meaning.
