Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

G.G. Knoth I live and work in the community affected by the Parkland shooting. During that time I saw the best and the worst examples of how people respond to tragedy. As I met with parents and children from Stoneman Douglas I felt inspired to start writing about mental health. This is a topic I have always been passionate about. Poetry was a way for me to mourn with my community and as a way to hopefully start a dialog about mental health that revolves around proactive and compassionate care instead of platitudes and 15 rounds of the political blame game.
