Hi Kelly, I loved "Block and Strike." Great story, wonderful characters. I'm currently reading "To See the Sun" -- a very different world! Which of your books is your favorite?

Hi Sue! I'm so glad you liked BLOCK AND STRIKE and I hope you enjoy TO SEE THE SUN just as much even though it's a very different world. I'd like to think the love stories are similar - with both couples finding in each other the one person who helps them be a better version of themselves.
As to my favourite book, it's such a difficult question! I love all of my books for different reasons and they're all 'favourites' for those different reasons. For instance, BLOCK AND STRIKE will always be special because it was my first full-length, solo novel. Also, it delves into a subject I'm passionate about: the study of martial arts. I love the characters, Max and Jake, because they represent different aspects of myself. Similarly, I love TO SEE THE SUN because it's one of those books where I took a chance on something completely different - a trope-laden romance, western, set in space. It could have been a mess. But the characters have very human stories, which is one of my favourite aspects of science fiction.
If I had to pick one book of mine that I felt best showed my voice, and is one that I had a wonderful time writing, it'd probably be BUILDING FOREVER. Charlie is one of my most personal characters and his journey as a father allowed me to sort my own thoughts on parenting a similarly aged child. Also, the book is just fun.
Thanks so much for the note!
