Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Rebecca Bielawski My most recent book is SPLENDOR THE MAGNIFICENT. I was painting, I painted a beautiful blue bird trying out new brushes. Then I said: what's this guy's story? The whole book was based around that one painting. Also, I had always been annoyed by something grandmothers do a lot here in Spain. That is, telling children everyday repeatedly a thousand times that they are handsome or pretty. I don't think it's constructive to impress the idea that physical beauty is the reason why we love them. That is one of the central themes of the book.
