Hi Sara, thanks for contacting me. I would say make sure your ready to do everything on your own. I'm assuming you're talking about self-publishing. Also, I would start building a fanbase before you release your books. If you are referring to traditional publishing houses i'd say to double-check the contract or get someone else to go over it with you and make sure you observe the production process so you don't end up with a product, unlike the one you wrote. And of course, go over and edit the book so you don't have to later. God bless.
