Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Lee Ferrier Ascension was literally meant to be a short story to keep Darkest Nights readers satisfied until I finish Ashes to Ashes (which is currently having a complete re-write). Since the whole of the series has already been thought out I figured I would treat it as a small side story (kind of like Rogue One to Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope) where the details of the events of the story would be mentioned in passing in a future book but it just kept expanding until it ended up being a full fledged novel.
