Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Chris Rogers Many years ago I sailed on a tall ship in the Caribbean, and it struck me as a wonderful setting for a book. I wasn't a fiction writer at the time, but I used the setting a few years later for a romance novel (rejected because it had too much mystery). Still, I couldn't forget the feelings I had hearing the wind in the sails, surrounded by water and so far from land.

Then about 2 years ago, having always been intrigued by the notion of immortality, I began to toy with the idea of an immortal pirate, a tall ship, and the Caribbean. From that idea sprang Paradise Cursed.
