Goodreads asked Mark Wilson:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Mark Wilson I don't allow writer's block to take hold. I try hard to not be a perfectionist. When I'm feeling uninspired and I'm facing a deadline, I force myself to sit down and begin writing. Though the words may not be the best or brightest, I know I can go back later to edit and rewrite. The important thing is to get something written. My final piece rarely resembles the words I first wrote, so just get busy with your keyboard or pen and get that first draft rolling. I find deadlines motivate me. Try setting a deadline for yourself and you might find yourself overcoming writer's block. Plus, if you write about something you love and know well, writer's block won't likely rear its time consuming head.
