How do you get inspired to write?

Sxperimental Everything around me inspires me. But most of all, I want to talk about my country, Mauritius. A tropical island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Since most foreigners know it as a vacation destination for its beaches and nice hotels. What makes the island stand apart is its people. Too bad, it's ignored and covered under tones of coats of luxury hotels and a bad reputation for money laundering. Even if not all of my books take place there, I still find a way to share bits and pieces of the culture.
