Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Lea Lane I realized that I had traveled to almost 120 countries, and figured I should write down my most interesting memories of about 100 of them. I've been a travel writer for much of my long life, and I had many tales to tell and memories that I didn't want lost. I also have thousands of photos. Why shouldn't I use the best of them, as well? So 70 of my photos were illustrated by an artist who used to work at the New Yorker, to enhance the words.
And so, Places I Remember: Tales, Truths, Delights from 100 Countries was just launched!
