How do you get inspired to write?

A.G. Macdonald I find the planning stage incredibly inspiring. After you have published more than one book, having physical copies in your writing space is helpful too. It's nice to see that you can and will finish the next book (just as you did the others).
Books, movies, video games, and music all inspire me, too. I can't watch anything without thinking about my own cool little version of that story. For me, inspiration isn't the problem, it's time.
