Goodreads asked Jonathan Carroll:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Jonathan Carroll Well mine is meditation (nothing formation and organized). I like to get in a hot tub with the lights low in a quite place. I like to visualize my story as a movies, and run the chapter in my head. That normally assists me to shake the some of the story loose. I do avoid reading books and seeing movies similar to what I am working on, to avoid those idea's from that piece creeping into my work. I want me work to be honest and my own. If it turns out to be something similar to something else, I can at least say that I got there is an honest way and I was not influenced too much by other work.
