Is your writing on Africa in Cargo based on experience or on research?

D.V. Berkom Hi Edward! Thanks for your question. My experience with Africa stems from a close friend who is a hot-air balloon pilot who lived in Tanzania and now lives in Kenya. And certainly, a ton of research goes into my books--interviews, articles, travel, etc.--whether I've visited the area in question or not. My hope is that I capture the essence of each setting as authentically as possible.
