Goodreads asked Sarah Russell:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Sarah Russell Write like a lover, then revise like an assassin. NO ONE’s first draft is perfect. Make what you’re working on as good as you can make it, and then find a group or a writing buddy online or in person to help you see where to revise. The hardest thing to do is to listen to what these people say with an open mind. But remember, you’ve made it the best you can before asking for help, so anything they add will make it even better.
