Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Heather Gudenkauf I got the idea for THIS IS HOW LIED from all the cases in the news as of late that have been reopened or solved because of advances in technology. I read I'LL BE GONE IN THE DARK by Michelle McNamara a few years ago and was absolutely fascinated by the thought of a decades old mystery being solved. From there, Eve, Maggie and Nola and their stories emerged.

Thanks for another great novel. Sorry that there are no chances for readings at Prairie Lights these days. We enjoyed yours last year. Also I believe at that reading you recommended Beneath the Scarlet Sky when you signed our copy of Before She was Lost. Do you have any recommendations for novels now?
