Goodreads asked Buck Wyndham:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Buck Wyndham This may sound crazy, but if I'm having trouble writing, I have a reliable way to spur myself into the right frame of mind. I write at night, in a very dimly-lit room, with no outside distractions like people, phones or TV, and I play one of the ambient music playlists on Spotify, such as "Ambient Relaxation" or "Peace." Played at low volume, this music rapidly takes me deep into the contemplative mood I need to start getting thoughts onto the page. Try it. It might work for you.

Another thing I do is to not force it. If the ideas are coming and the words are flowing, let it happen. If they're just not, take a break and go do something else. And always take a recorder or a notepad wherever you go, so that when an idea or phrase comes to you at some random time, you can write it down or record it immediately. DON'T let the thought pass, or you will forget it.
