Goodreads asked Ian Kirkpatrick:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Ian Kirkpatrick I get to live a bunch of lives. It's also kind of eery having what feels like personal connections to places or people because you wrote about them. Man, it's wild... Ten years ago I never would have thought I'd be writing a book inspired by Jeff and needing my own rare books, action figure, and friends/family buying me other memorabilia without me even asking, but here we are and I can't wait to share that story.

That too. That's the other best thing. Sharing these experiences, these human lives with other people and some of the magical circumstances I see in the world, be it mythology or exaggeration, I love getting to develop the world as I see it through the lives of these people that come into my head. There's no way to say that without sounding insane, lmfao.
