Goodreads asked Anthony Barbera:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Anthony Barbera Write. Damn straight! Don't be afraid of criticism. Use it, welcome it. Value other perspectives--except--if you have a vision for a story, and you know its right, and your consultant isn't convinced. Its okay if they don't buy in to the story and genre your writing in, win them with the story. If you can do that, and keep your vision, two things will happen. You will make the story easier to comprehend and you'll write a more compelling novel.
