I was looking for a way to bridge the gap between "Lost in Suburbia" when may kids were little, and my upcoming book, "Lost in Midlife" when I become an Empty Nester (Oops, I just revealed the theme of the book I said I wasn’t;t going to talk about yet). I had the idea to tell the story of that time period through the life of our dog, Riley. He said it was okay with him, so I did it.
