How do you get inspired to write?

Carina Alyce I'm a doctor, and I've noticed that a lot of dramatic medical/first responder TV shows and books are not very good. They seem to be written by people who don't actually have medical experience. Seriously, I saw a firefighter TV show where they had 40 firefighters try to push a dump truck by hand. Why? A typical dump truck weighs at least 12 tons! You can have plenty of drama and excitement and still show how an operating room works.

So I decided to write books that showed you reality with actual real drama rather than making it 100% escapism. And believe me, the hospital can be a very dramatic place.
