Goodreads asked Sara Ohlin:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Sara Ohlin Gah! Writer's block is a curse! In non-pandemic times I have a pretty regular writing schedule during the week. As soon as the kids get to school. I get to work and write for 4 to 5 hours every weekday when I'm working on a draft. It's a bit different when I'm in edits or launching a book. But even with a regular schedule writer's block still hits me. I have to admit, there are times I give up and walk away, but not for good. I take walks, bake, watch a home reno show, but I always come back to the writing. I try to set word count goals for myself when I'm in the middle of a first draft and if writer's block hits then, I bribe myself with chocolate or time to read on my Kindle if I finish my word count. Sometimes I just keep writing through the block. I try to remind myself that somedays I will write a lot of crap, and that's okay. Because I can always delete, delete, delete!
